The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is currently leading in 21 out of the 28 seats it contested in the Bihar Assembly elections. The party, led by Chirag Paswan, appears to be performing strongly as part of the NDA bloc, which is maintaining a dominant lead across the state.

With the NDA collectively leading in a majority of the 243 seats, the LJP (Ram Vilas)’s performance adds further strength to the alliance's position. The early trends highlight the party’s growing influence within the NDA framework.

NDA leads in 191 seats; BJP at 84, RJD trails with 22

As of 11:55 AM, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is heading for a sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, leading in 191 out of 243 seats. The BJP has emerged as the single largest party with leads in 84 constituencies, followed by its ally JD(U) with 77 leads. Other NDA partners include the LJP (Ram Vilas) leading in 22 seats, HAM in 5, and RLM in 3.

The Opposition Grand Alliance is trailing significantly, with leads in only 36 seats. Among them, the RJD is ahead in 22 seats, CPI-MLL in 7, Congress in 5, and CPI and VIP in 1 seat each.

The trends indicate a clear edge for the NDA, with the BJP and JD(U) dominating the seat tally. The Mahagathbandhan, which had hoped to challenge the ruling alliance, is witnessing poor performance across the state.

Tej Pratap trails by 10,000 votes in Mahua constituency

Counting for the Bihar Assembly elections began on Friday across 243 constituencies, with 122 seats needed for a majority. Early trends indicate a strong lead for the BJP and JD(U)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is currently ahead in 190 seats, well above the halfway mark. The opposition Mahagathbandhan (MGB) is trailing significantly, with leads in just 49 constituencies.

One of the closely watched contests is in Mahua, where Tej Pratap Yadav, now heading the Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) after his expulsion from the RJD, is facing a tough battle. According to the latest trends, Tej Pratap has secured only 2,121 votes, trailing by over 10,000 votes. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) candidate Sanjay Kumar Singh is leading with nearly 13,000 votes, followed by RJD's Mukesh Kumar Raushan with 8,794 votes. AIMIM’s Amit Kumar has polled 4,569 votes.

Mahua, located in Vaishali district, has historical significance for Tej Pratap, who won the seat in 2015 as an RJD candidate. However, in 2020, Mukesh Kumar Raushan of the RJD won the seat, defeating JD(U)’s Ashma Parveen by a margin of 13,770 votes. This year, Tej Pratap’s new party had fielded 21 candidates, including himself from Mahua.

Tejashwi trails by 3,000 Votes in Raghopur stronghold

Tejashwi Yadav, the Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate, is trailing in Raghopur, his family stronghold, according to early trends in the 2025 Bihar Assembly election. The RJD leader is behind BJP candidate Satish Kumar by over 3,000 votes, marking a significant development in one of Bihar’s most closely watched contests.

Raghopur has long been associated with the Yadav family, with both Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi having represented the seat in the past. Tejashwi Yadav has held the constituency since 2015, winning by over 38,000 votes in the 2020 election. Confident of victory, he had earlier stated, “It will be a people's victory. Change will come. We are forming the government," reported NDTV.

Satish Kumar, who defeated Rabri Devi in 2010 as a JD(U) candidate, is now representing the BJP. The Jan Suraaj Party, led by poll strategist Prashant Kishor, has also fielded a candidate in the seat. Kishor had earlier considered contesting from Raghopur but later announced that he would not run and would instead focus on the party's overall campaign.

Adding to the intrigue, Prem Kumar of the Janshakti Janata Dal, led by Tejashwi’s estranged brother Tej Pratap Yadav, is also in the fray, making Raghopur a multi-cornered contest.

Jan Suraaj: Votes sold for Rs 200/month in Rs 10,000 election

In a post on X, the Jan Suraaj party criticised the outcome of the Bihar Assembly election, expressing disappointment over alleged voter inducement. Writing in Hindi, the party stated, “This election turned out to be a 10,000-rupee election.” The post suggested that votes were influenced by small monetary benefits, adding, “We sold our votes for a mere 200 rupees per month.”
