At least 86 people, mostly students, died after a boat capsized in Congo’s Equateur Province, state media reported from Basankusu territory
At least 86 people have died after a boat capsized in northwestern Congo's Equateur Province. According to state media reports, the incident took place on Wednesday in Basankusu territory.
The reports further stated that most of the victims were students.
It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, although the state media blamed it on “improper loading and night navigation”, reported AP.
