    Special US envoys head to Pakistan for talks

    Special envoys Steve Witkoff and the US President's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, are travelling to Pakistan later today for peace talks involving Iran.

    While Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that "the Iranians want to talk" — with Vice President JD Vance prepared to join if progress is made — Tehran remains more guarded. Iranian spokesperson Esmail Baqaei confirmed Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s arrival in Islamabad but clarified that while they will consult with Pakistani officials, "no meeting is planned" directly with the US delegation.
