Israel-Iran conflict LIVE | Trump warns Israel not to target Iran, says both sides broke truce
The US President has accused Israel of immediately escalating the conflict after truce was made
US President Donald Trump claimed a ceasefire between Iran and Israel was “in effect” on Tuesday (June 24), after expressing deep frustration with both sides and accusing them of violating the agreement he brokered.
Israel earlier accused Iran of launching missiles into its airspace after the truce was supposed to take effect. The Iranian military denied firing on Israel, state media reported.
Trump expressed anger and frustration as he told reporters at the White House that both Israel, a close ally, and Iran had violated the ceasefire plan. But later he said the deal was saved, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said he held off on tougher strike against Iran after speaking to Trump.
He earlier accused Israel of immediately escalating the conflict after the agreement was made. "Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I've never seen before, the biggest load that we've seen."
Trump concluded by slamming both nations' actions, stating, "We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the f*** they're doing." This outburst underscores his apparent exasperation with the ongoing tensions in the region.
Ceasefire plan
Earlier, the two countries accepted the ceasefire plan proposed by Trump to end their 12-day conflict that roiled the Middle East, after Tehran launched a retaliatory limited missile attack on a US military base in Qatar.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed that the Israel has accepted the ceasefire deal with Iran. The prime minister’s office has released a statement in which it said Israel has achieved its goals against Iran, according to a report in The Times of Israel. “Israel has removed a dual immediate existential threat – both in the nuclear and ballistic missile fields,” the statement reads.
Netanyahu's statement added that the IDF “achieved full air control over Tehran’s skies, inflicted severe damage on the military leadership, and destroyed dozens of central Iranian government targets.”

Trump announces a ceasefire in Iran-Israel war, but status remains unclear
US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire," but its status remained unclear as attacks continued Tuesday.
Trump's announcement came soon after Iran launched a limited missile attack Monday on a US military base in Qatar, retaliating for the American bombing of its nuclear sites.
Iran's foreign minister said that as long as Israel stopped its attacks by 4 am local Tehran time Tuesday, Iran would halt its own. But nearly an hour after that deadline, Israel's military warned its public that Iran had launched missiles towards it as sirens sounded. At least one missile interception could be seen over the skies of Jerusalem and warnings of two further attacks followed as day broke.
It's unclear what the detected missile launches would do for the ceasefire's timeline.
Trump's announcement on Truth Social said the ceasefire wouldn't begin until about midnight Tuesday Eastern time. He said it would bring an “Official END” to the war.
Israel doesn't confirm ceasefire but appears to pause strikes Israel did not immediately acknowledge any ceasefire, but there were no reports of Israeli strikes in Iran after 4 am local. Heavy Israeli strikes continued in Tehran and other cities until shortly before that time. Israel in other conflicts has stepped up its strikes just before ceasefires took effect.
“As of now, there is NO agreement' on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote in a post on X. “However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards.” His message was posted at 4:16 am Tehran time. Araghchi added: “The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later.” The Israeli military declined to comment on Trump's ceasefire statement and the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

Flight disruptions at Cochin airport after Qatar airspace closure
Several flights were delayed, cancelled or diverted at Cochin International Airport late Monday night after the closure of Qatar's airspace amid the rising tensions in the West Asia.
According to an airport spokesperson, an Air India Express flight that departed at 6.53 pm was diverted to Muscat.
Air India's Doha-bound flight, scheduled to leave at 12.53 am Tuesday, was cancelled.
A Qatar Airways flight due to arrive in Cochin at 2.53 am has been delayed, affecting its return leg as well.
An Air Arabia flight from Cochin to Abu Dhabi has also been delayed, the official said.
An Etihad flight from Cochin to Abu Dhabi is returning to the airport, the official added.
"As a result of the ongoing situation in the Middle East and suspension of Qatar airspace, Air India Express has diverted our Doha-bound flight from Kochi to Muscat and returned our flight bound from Kannur," the airline said in a statement.

Air India temporarily stops flights to Europe, 5 destinations in US, Canada
Air India has stopped flight operations to Europe and five destinations in the US and Canada amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Besides, flights of Air India Express and IndiGo to the Middle East have been impacted, and some of them have been diverted.
With Iran launching a missile attack on a US airbase in Qatar, tensions have mounted in the region, and a few countries, including Qatar, have closed their airspace.
Air India's long-haul flights to Europe and North America overfly the Middle East, and the airspace curbs have disrupted its services.
Amid the developing situation in the Middle East, Air India said it has ceased all operations to the region as well as to and from the East Coast of North America and Europe with immediate effect, until further notice.
Services have been temporarily stopped to European cities as well as to four US airports -- New York, Newark, Chicago and Washington -- and to Toronto (Canada).
"Our India-bound flights from North America are diverting back to their respective origins, and others are being diverted back to India or rerouted away from the closed airspaces," the airline said in a statement.
The airline said it is in continuous consultation with its external security advisers and is vigilantly monitoring the evolving situation.
"We request the understanding of all passengers who may be affected by this disruption that's beyond an airline's control," the carrier said.
Air India Express diverted two Doha-bound flights due to the closure of Qatar airspace.
"As a result of the ongoing situation in the Middle East and suspension of Qatar airspace, Air India Express has diverted our Doha-bound flight from Kochi to Muscat and returned our flight bound from Kannur," the airline said in a statement.
In a post on X, IndiGo said that in light of the recent developments in the Middle East, flight arrivals and departures from Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Ras AI-Khaimah and Tbilisi are impacted.
The airline also said it is actively monitoring the situation and adjusting operations to ensure the highest level of safety.

Qatar says one of 19 missiles fired by Iran impacted the base but caused no casualties
Iran fired 19 missiles at the base in Qatar, and one impacted the facility but caused no casualties, a Qatari military officer said late Monday.
Maj Gen Shayeq Al Hajri told reporters that seven missiles were fired from Iran and all were intercepted over the water between the two countries by Qatari air defences. Iran then fired 12 more missiles and 11 were intercepted over Qatari territory, but one hit the US base, Al Hajri said.
It was not immediately clear how much damage was caused by the missile.
The number of missiles differed from a figure given by US President Donald Trump, who said 14 missiles were fired, 13 were knocked down and one was “set free” because it posed no threat.
Trump says Iran gave US advanced warning of attacks on base in Qatar President Trump said Iran warned the US before its missile strike Monday on an American air base in Qatar.
“I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured,” Trump wrote on social media.

Iran warns Ramat Gan
Iran, mirroring the language and maps of the Israeli military, put out a warning telling people in Ramat Gan it would target “military infrastructure” there.
The US has evacuated some 250 American citizens and their immediate family members from Israel by government, military and charter flights that began over the weekend, a State Department official says.
Since June 21, the official says the US has organised seven flights, most of which have gone to Athens, Greece, but also to Rome, Italy, and Larnaca, Cyprus.
Other Americans, including nonessential embassy staff and their families, have left via land to Jordan and Egypt, while others have departed Israel by ship. The official did not have statistics for those departures, which do not necessarily involve US government assistance.
There are roughly 700,000 American citizens, most of them dual US-Israeli citizens, believed to be in Israel.
