Iran rejects US' 15-point ceasefire proposal
Iranian state television's English-language broadcaster quoted an anonymous official on Wednesday saying that Iran had rejected America's 15-point ceasefire proposal.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty reacted to Iran's rejection to the ceasefire, saying Egypt will continue its efforts to help bring views from the warring parties closer to reaching a compromise and working out their differences.
Abdelatty said Egypt is in touch with the Iranians through one channel, which is through the Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi.
“History taught us that military solutions is not the answer,” he said during a news briefing in Cairo on Wednesday. “We believe with good intention and political will and with seriousness from both sides, they can exchange views and reach compromise.” - 25 March 2026 8:58 PM IST

Don't send soldiers to fix what your generals broke, Iran tells Trump
Iran's parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a stark warning to the United States on Wednesday, saying Tehran is closely watching American military movements in the region as Washington allegedly prepares to deploy at least 1,000 troops to the Middle East.
Taking to X, Ghalibaf directed his message squarely at US forces, suggesting that boots on the ground would do little to fix what American and Israeli leadership had already damaged.
"We are closely monitoring all US movements in the region, especially troop deployments. What the generals have broke, the soldiers can't fix; instead, they will fall victim to Netanyahu's delusions. Do not test our resolve to defend our land," he wrote.
The warning signals Tehran's growing impatience with the alleged American military build-up in the region, as tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate amid the ongoing conflict.
Earlier, Iran flatly rejected Trump's claims of diplomatic progress, with Ghalibaf calling it "fakenews used to manipulate financial and oil markets."

Iran claims it fired cruise missile at USS Abraham Lincoln carrier
Iran has claimed it launched a cruise missile towards the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, according to Iranian state television. There has been no immediate confirmation or response from US officials.
Iranian Army public relations said coastal cruise missiles were fired in the direction of the US aircraft carrier. The claim, however, remains independently unverified.
The development follows a direct warning issued by the Iranian Navy to the United States, stating that the USS Abraham Lincoln is under close surveillance and could be targeted if it approaches Iranian territory.
Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani reportedly warned that the carrier would be struck if it entered the range of Iran's missile systems, adding that the vessel was being constantly monitored.

Most Americans say US action against Iran has gone too far, poll finds
Most Americans believe recent US military action against Iran has gone too far, and many are worried about affording gasoline, according to a new AP-NORC poll.
The survey from The Associated Press-NORC Centre for Public Affairs Research indicates that while President Donald Trump's approval rating is holding steady, the conflict could be swiftly turning into a major political liability for his Republican administration.
While Trump is deploying more warships and troops to West Asia, about 59 per cent of Americans say US military action in Iran has been excessive.
Meanwhile, 45 per cent are “extremely” or “very” concerned about being able to afford gas in the next few months, up from 30 per cent in an AP-NORC poll conducted shortly after Trump won re-election with promises that he would improve the economy and lower the cost of living.
There is significant support for at least one of the president's objectives, which is preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
About two-thirds of Americans say that should be an “extremely” or “very” important foreign policy goal for the US. However, they are just as likely to say it's important to keep US oil and gas prices from rising, a juxtaposition that could be difficult for the White House to manage.
