Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Monday (May 12) that India has temporarily halted its counter-terrorism operations against Pakistan but warned that New Delhi is prepared to respond decisively to any threats.
In a televised address to the nation, Modi said, "In the coming days, we will observe Pakistan's behaviour and decide our actions on the basis of that."
The Prime Minister saluted India’s Armed Forces for its bravery. He also said Pakistan's 'nuke blackmail' won't work with India anymore.
'Not the era of terror'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asserted that this is not an era of war but not of terrorism either.
The PM said on Monday that for India to uphold peace, it must be strong, and when necessary, that strength must be exercised.
"This is not an era of war, but it is not an era of terrorism either. Unity is India's greatest strength in the fight against all forms of terrorism. Zero Tolerance against terrorism is the guarantee of a better and safer world," he said.
Modi asserted that Pakistan's military and government have continuously nurtured terrorism, warning that such actions will eventually lead to Pakistan's own downfall.
He declared that if Pakistan seeks survival, it must dismantle its terror infrastructure—there is no other path to peace.
'Terror and talks can't co-exist'
He reaffirmed India's firm stance, stating that terror and talks cannot coexist, terror and trade cannot run parallel, and blood and water cannot flow together.
"Any discussions with Pakistan will focus solely on terrorism and any negotiations with Pakistan will centre around Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)," he said.

IndiGo cancels flights to Amritsar, 5 other places for May 13
IndiGo has cancelled its flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar and Rajkot for May 13.
"In light of the latest developments and with your safety as our utmost priority, flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot are cancelled for 13th May 2025," IndiGo said in a post on X at 23:38 hours on Monday.
The airline also said its teams are actively monitoring the situation.
These six airports are among those that were reopened for civilian flights on Monday after being temporarily shut in the wake of the military conflict between India and Pakistan.
On Monday evening, an IndiGo flight enroute to Amritsar returned to the national capital after precautionary blackout measures were enforced in Amritsar, according to sources.
The flight 6E2045 from Delhi to Amritsar returned to the national capital after being ariborne for sometime, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.

AAI says 32 airports to resume operations, airlines issue travel advisories
Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday announced that civilian flight operations will resume at 32 airports that were temporarily shut last week in view of the military standoff between India and Pakistan.
Airlines, including Air India, AirIndia Express, IndiGo and SpiceJet, issued travel advisories/ updates to their customers following the opening of the civil flight operations from these 32 airports.
In a statement on Monday, state-owned AAI said the 32 airports that were closed for civilian aircraft operations till 0529 hours of May 15 are now available for operations with immediate effect. "It is recommended for travellers to check flight status directly with Airlines and monitor airlines' websites for regular updates," the statement said.
Civilian flight operations from the 32 airports across northern and western India, including Srinagar and Amritsar, were suspended from May 9 to May 15. The AAI along with other aviation authorities had issued a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), announcing the temporary closure of 32 airports across northern and western India for all civilian flight operations.

Partial precautionary blackout in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district
