BJP blasts Congress over Modi criticism after Pahalgam massacre
Demanding a parliament session to discuss the Pahalgam attack, Jairam Ramesh said Modi should brief the house over the slaughter of Indian tourists
The BJP has accused the Congress to appealing to its Muslim vote bank after it criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the terrorist massacre at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
“It is not the first time Congress has resorted to such tactics. Rahul Gandhi, on multiple occasions, has both instigated and justified violence toward the prime minister,” BJP leader Amit Malviya said on X.
“Yet the Congress will never succeed, for the prime minister enjoys the love and blessings of millions of Indians,” he added.
“On the contrary, proverbially speaking, if anyone’s neck has been slashed, it is the Congress, now reduced to a headless hydra, flailing without direction," Malviya said.
Other BJP spokespersons denounced the Congress further.
Congress and Pakistan
BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla said the Congress post proved that the latter had become a "Pakistan Prasth Party".
"Not only do both have the same script, but their work and culture have also become the same,” he told ANI.
BJP’s Pradeep Bhandari went to the extent of accusing the Congress of taking orders from Pakistan.
"The same tweet of the Congress party was quote-tweeted by the former minister of Pakistan. So today, it has become clear to the country that a 'jugalbandi' is going on between Congress and the deep state of Pakistan,” Bhandari said.
“Under the leadership of Modi, India will give a befitting reply to the masters of terror of Pakistan," he added.
Jairam on Modi
On his part, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh reiterated that Modi was not present at the all-party meeting over the Pahalgam terror attack. The prime minister was then addressing a rally in Bihar.
Demanding a special session of parliament to discuss the attack, Ramesh said Modi should brief the house over the slaughter of over two dozen Indian tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam.
“Modi was not present at the all-party meeting. We demanded on 22nd April that the all-party meeting should be held on this issue...
“Modi should participate in the discussions in parliament and tell us what happened and how this terrorist attack took place. There is no political agenda,” he said.
