CJP’s Dipke leaves for India from US, says ‘fate in hands of Constitution’

Dipke will arrive in India on Saturday to join the CJP’s proposed protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, for which permission has been sought. The party is demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over NEET exam paper leaks

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Friday (June 5) left for India from the US and said he was leaving his “fate in the hands of the Constitution”.

Dipke took to X (Formerly X) to announce that he is on his way to India. Two days back, Dipke told The Federal that he was returning to India “for good” and is not afraid of facing arrest upon landing in New Delhi.

‘Ready to face arrest’

“If they want to arrest me, they can. But I want to make it clear that I am returning to my own country to exercise a fundamental right granted to me by the Constitution of India. I am following the Constitution and exercising my constitutional rights. It is up to the authorities whether they follow the Constitution and allow a citizen to express his voice in a democratic society,” Dipke told The Federal on Wednesday.

“I am coming back for good. Over the last few days, after receiving attention online and in the media, I received several job offers from people who reached out to me. However, I told them that I need to return to India because I cannot abandon this movement. I need to take it forward,” he added.

“On my way to India… Leaving my fate in the hands of the Constitution. #JaiBhim (sic),” Dipke posted on X on Friday morning.

Thanks supporters

On Thursday, Dipke, while thanking his supporters in a video message, had urged them not to come to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi to receive him.

Dipke will arrive in India on Saturday to join the CJP’s proposed protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, for which permission has been sought. The party is demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over NEET exam paper leaks.

The party has said climate activist Sonam Wangchuk will also join the demonstration.

The CJP, a political satire outfit, launched last month, said they have got overwhelming response from people to join them at Delhi airport. "The overwhelming response from those who want the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan to our call to join us at Delhi Airport was beyond our imagination."

“This movement will be led with peace and love,” Dipke said.
