CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke’s family relocates ahead of India return, NEET leak protest

Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke’s family reportedly shifts location ahead of his India return and planned protest over the NEET paper leak issue

The family members of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke have reportedly shifted to an undisclosed location from their residence in the MIDC Waluj area of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, formerly Aurangabad, reportedly due to concerns over their safety ahead of Dipke’s return to India on June 6. Dipke, currently based in Boston, US, has announced that the CJP will stage a protest in Delhi against the NEET paper leak incident, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Family's concerns

“Being a father, my concerns are obvious. Initially, I tried to convince him to reconsider launching any campaign. However, once a person has made up his mind to do something, there is very little left to say,” said Abhijeet’s father, Bhagwanrao Dipke.

“At this stage, we do not intend to advise him further,” said Dipke, who retired last year as an engineer with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC)," he added as quoted by the Hindustan Times.

However, Bhagwanrao said that so far they have not received any threats but are naturally worried as parents.

“Abhijeet has a sound understanding of the law and has assured us he will not violate any legal provisions,” he added.

Dipke bracing for arrest

Meanwhile, Abhijeet appears prepared for potential legal action regarding the proposed protest. Advocate and human rights activist Asim Sarode said Dipke contacted him over the phone on Wednesday (June 3) and sought his support for the campaign.

Speaking about the conversation, Sarode said, “Abhijeet Dipke told me he is ready to get arrested. He is of the view that the issue is not limited to 30 lakh students who appeared for NEET examinations. It also relates to their parents, which takes the number of affected people to 70-80 lakh.”

According to Sarode, Dipke believes the matter has impacted not only candidates who appeared for the examination but also their families, given the scale of concerns surrounding the alleged irregularities.
