ICAI postpones CA May 2025 exams amid escalating India-Pak tensions
This decision affects exams scheduled from May 9 to 14, which will now be rescheduled; Kashmir University and Cluster University have postponed their exams too
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially postponed the remaining May 2025 Chartered Accountant (CA) exams, including the Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course (PQC) papers.
This decision affects the exams scheduled from May 9 to 14, which will now be rescheduled due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
Candidates are urged to regularly check the ICAI’s official website, www.icai.org, for the revised dates, which will be communicated “in due course”.

Postponed exam details
According to the ICAI, CA Final and Inter schedule, the CA Final Group I exams were set to be held on May 2, 4, and 6, while Group II was scheduled for May 8, 10, and 13.
The CA Intermediate Group I exams took place on May 3, 5, and 7. The Group II exams set for May 9, 11, and 14 are postponed now.
Paper-6 of the ICAI CA May 2025 Final Examination and all papers of the International Taxation – Assessment test are of four hours duration.
The ICAI said that the CA Foundation course exams are, however, not postponed. The ICAI CA May 2025 Final exams are set to be held on May 15, 17, 19 and 21.
Overseas exam centres
The May 2025 CA exams are being held across India and at nine overseas centres, including Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Kuwait, Muscat, Riyadh, and Thimphu.
Notably, Foundation, Intermediate, and Final candidates may opt to write in English or Hindi, while the Post Qualification Course (PQC) International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT – AT) examination is conducted exclusively in English.

Universities postpone exams
Meanwhile, Kashmir University and Cluster University have also postponed their examinations during this period, citing the security crisis.
A Kashmir University spokesperson said fresh dates for the examinations will be notified separately.
