Indian army denies targeting Pakistan's nuclear facility at Kirana Hills
Air Marshal AK Bharti, however, thanked the media for telling them Kirana Hills houses some nuclear installation, adding that they did not know about it
India has firmly denied that they conducted any military strike on Pakistan’s alleged nuclear facility at Kirana Hills.
Reacting to the speculation on whether India tried to attack Pakistan's alleged nuclear storage site, during his press briefing on Operation Sindoor, Air Marshal AK Bharti clarified, "We did not hit Kirana Hills."
Thanks for telling us!
However, he added, “Thank you for telling us that Kirana Hills houses some nuclear installation—we did not know about it. It was not on the list of the targets we told you we hit.”
Bharti completely dismissed all suggestions linking India to an attack on the alleged nuclear facility.

This clarification was made after there were reports that India may have targeted Kirana Hills area, which is situated near the strategic Sargodha Air Base in Pakistan. The reports also suggested that it was probably the storage house for Pakistan's nuclear arms.
Moreover, a recent seismic activity in parts of Pakistan was linked to a possible strike on sensitive military infrastructure.
Potential nuclear accident
The theories around Kirana Hills gained more traction online after radar enthusiasts and defence watchers also said military aircraft belonging to the United States and Egypt were spotted in Pakistani airspace. Reports speculated that they were responding to a potential nuclear incident.
However, there were no official statements forthcoming from Pakistan or India, despite calls to both governments to ensure transparency and prevent misinformation.

Pakistani authorities also made no statement addressing the earthquake-related rumours.
India's actions 'measured'
Meanwhile, India has officially confirmed strikes on selected military targets under Operation Sindoor, including infrastructure linked to Pakistan’s air capabilities. However, it has repeatedly maintained that all actions were “measured, proportionate, and based on credible intelligence”.
In the midst of all this disinformation, defence analysts stressed the importance of verifying facts and avoiding inflammatory narratives that can trigger instability in the region.
