You gave away PoK, we will get it back: Shah's dig at Congress

Opposition MPs walk out over PM Modi's absence in the Rajya Sabha

Union Home Minister Amit Shah's address in the Rajya Sabha is currently underway. Taking a dig at the Congress, Shah declared, "You gave away Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, and it's our duty to take it back."

Shah also provided an update on recent security operations, stating, "The identity of three terrorists killed in Op Mahadev established Lashkar-e-Taiba’s hand in the Pahalgam attack."

Reads out PM's speech

He read out the Prime Minister's speech delivered on April 24, 2025, and said that following the PM’s guidance, not only were terrorists eliminated but their launch pad was also destroyed. He said that the government decided to end the one-sided Indus Water Treaty as Indian farmers have their rights on the Indus water.

Shah said that at least 100 people were killed and the headquarters of terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were destroyed by the Modi government.

“I proudly declare to the world... Hindus can never be terrorists,” he said, questioning the Congress Party for filing false cases against many "patriotic religious institutions".

“The Congress never took any concrete steps for the preparation of the Indian Army. During the war with China, we didn’t even have proper clothes to wear in the cold... there was neither salt nor matchsticks, and we had a severe shortage of guns and cartridges.” Shah said, under the leadership of Modiji, the Army is equipped with modern weapons like the BrahMos missile.

Earlier, when Shah began to speak, Opposition parties protested and demanded that the Prime Minister should be present in the House. However, when the Chair refused to entertain their demand, they staged a walkout.

Modi and Amit Shah suffer from OCD over Nehru: Jairam Ramesh

The Congress launched a sharp attack on PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for repeatedly invoking Jawaharlal Nehru in Lok Sabha debates.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh accused them of deflecting from their current governance failures by indulging in what he termed an “obsessive-compulsive disorder” about Nehru.

He said they have no answers to their "present-day failures" and they choose to "divert, distract, distort, and defame". He mocked Shah as a “distorian” and took a dig at Modi’s “entire political science” degree.

Jairam Ramesh said, "Yesterday in the Lok Sabha, both the HM and the PM once again showed that they suffer from what in medical language is called obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) when it comes to Jawaharlal Nehru. It is possible that this will be on display in the Rajya Sabha too today." "They have NO answers to their present-day failures. They have NO answers to legitimate questions that are being raised on their policies and actions," he said.

Congress slams PM Modi’s silence on Trump’s ceasefire claim, cites weak stance

The Congress on Wednesday (July 30) accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of deliberately avoiding a clear denial of US President Donald Trump’s repeated claims about brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Jairam Ramesh alleged Modi is on a “very weak wicket” and unwilling to contradict Trump publicly, while Pawan Khera likened Trump to a “snake” that is coiled around PM Modi and "hissing bitter truths" into his ear.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday (July 29) on Air Force One on his way back to Washington from Scotland, Trump repeated the claim that he stopped the conflict between India and Pakistan.

Tagging a video of Trump's latest remarks, Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said, "This is President Trump yet again - After the PM's intervention yesterday in the Lok Sabha where he deflected and diverted the main issue." "Why is the PM simply refusing to unequivocally and categorically deny what his good friend Donald Trump has now said 30 times in the US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UK? The answer is clear. Mr. Narendra Modi is on a very weak wicket and has much to cover up," Ramesh said on X.

Congress' media and publicity department head Pawan Khera said, "Trump is coiled around Modi like a snake. And yesterday, Rahul Gandhi handed him the perfect chance to wriggle out of the mess. Just say Trump was lying about the ceasefire." "Simple, right? But no. Modi is allergic to taking Rahul ji's advice. And voilà , today the snake is back, coiled tighter than ever, hissing bitter truths into Modi's ear," Khera said on X.
