Monsoon session: Parliament adjourned for the day
Earlier, speaking with media before start of session, PM Modi hailed multi-party delegations that various nations to convey India's position post-Operation Sindoor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (July 21) said Parliament's Monsoon session is like a 'Vijay Utsav' as the Indian armed forces achieved their objectives under Operation Sindoor 100 per cent, and expressed confidence that the MPs will articulate this sentiment in one voice.
Speaking with the media before the start of the session, he hailed the multi-party delegations that visited various parts of the world to convey India's position post-Operation Sindoor for their efforts in removing the veil from the face of the master of terrorists, Pakistan.
Ahead of the start of the session, the government convened an all-party meeting on Sunday, where Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju said they are open to discussing key issues like Operation Sindoor. The government sought cooperation from Opposition parties for the smooth conduct of the House.

Parliament adjourned for the day
With Rajya Sabha getting adjourned for the day and Lok Sabha being adjourned earlier, the opening day of Parliament's Monsoon Session concluded on Monday. Since beginning, both Houses witnessed repeated adjournments with the Opposition demanding a discussion on Operation Sindoor. Despite assurance from the Government that the discussion would be held in due time, the Opposition did not relent.

Rajya Sabha chairman receives notice for Justice Yashwant Verma's removal
Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Monday he has received a notice signed by more than 50 Rajya Sabha MPs to initiate an inquiry under the Judges Inquiry Act and set in motion the process for removal of Justice Yashwant Verma.
He also said that he has asked the Rajya Sabha Secretary General to find out if a similar motion has been submitted by MPs in the Lok Sabha seeking removal of Justice Yashwant Verma.
This reference has been made because of conflicting rules exist for the process of admitting a notice for removal of a judge when such a notice is submitted simultaneously in both Houses of Parliament on the same day and when such a notice is submitted in both Houses on different days (in which case the motion submitted first is to be admitted by the House concerned and the other one become infructuous.
