Political leaders across party lines hail Indian army, support Operation Sindoor

From Rahul Gandhi, MK Stalin to Nitish Kumar, all the leaders praised India's retaliatory strike against Pakistan; Omar Abdullah called it 'right method' of reply

Political leaders across party lines India, supported and hailed the BJP-led NDA government’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, a retaliatory missile strike in nine locations in Pakistan.

They viewed it as a bold and measured strike against terror camps in Pakistan.

Congress stands against terror

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi set the tone keeping it crisp and succint, as he posted on X, “Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!”

Congress chief and Rajya Sabha LoP Mallikarjun Kharge praised the armed forces and highlighted India’s “unflinching National Policy” against all forms of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and PoK.

“We are extremely proud of our Indian Armed Forces who have struck terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. We applaud their resolute resolve and courage," he added.

Further, Kharge added, "Since the day of the Pahalgam Terror Attack, the Indian National Congress has categorically stood with the Armed Forces and the Government to take any decisive action against cross border terror. National Unity and solidarity are the need of the hour, and the Indian National Congress stands with our Armed Forces. Our leaders have shown the path in past, and National Interest is supreme for us," Kharge posted on X.

Right method of reply: Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, called Operation Sindoor the “right method” of reply. Pointing out that India only struck at terror sites in Pakistan and did not target military area or civilians, he slammed Pakistan for retaliating by bombing areas where civilians live.

Abdullah told ANI, "They started it, not us...We were living peacefully...we did not start this...none of us want war...we want the situation to improve again, but first Pakistan needs to lower their guns…”

The J&K CM felt that Pakistan response to Operation Sindoor has been 'arbitrary' and they are indiscriminately firing at India. It is "anything but proportionate", he said.

The firing and artillery shelling across the Line of Control and the International Border by Pakistan has left three civilians dead and many injured in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector.

“It was expected that India would use its right to respond in an appropriate and proportional way. I think the Government of India and the Indian defence forces have gone out of their way to ensure that no military and civilian targets were hit in Pakistan. They have only hit terror bases and launch pads. Unfortunately, the response has been anything but proportionate," Abdullah said after he held a meeting to assess the security and preparedness along the border and Line of Control area.

TN CM Stalin, other CMs responds

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hailed the Indian Army after it launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, carrying out precision strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). In a post on X, the UP CM wrote,”Jai Hind! Jai Hind Ki Sena!”

Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin was all praise for the Indian army and said in a post on X: “Tamil Nadu stands with the Indian Army against terrorism. With our Army, for our nation. Tamil Nadu stands resolute. #OperationSindoor.”

Actor Rajnikanth also had something to say. Tagging the official X accounts of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Home Minister’s Office, actor Rajinikanth, in a post on X, said: “The fighter’s fight begins... No stopping until the mission is accomplished! The entire NATION is with you. #OperationSindoor JAI HIND.”
