Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia opens up on 'low phase' in chat with Emraan Hashmi
Allahbadia reflects on his recent controversy as Bollywood actor Hashmi talks about 'true bonds' in Bollywood on 'The Ranveer Show'
YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi on his YouTube show, The Ranveer Show.
'Low phase'
In the episode, Allahbadia opened up about navigating a personal "low phase," referring to the massive controversy surrounding his appearance on Samay Raina's India’s Got Latent, where he had made an inappropriate joke about parents and their sex life.
Hashmi, currently promoting his upcoming film Ground Zero, acknowledged the controversy and offered support, stating he was aware of what Ranveer had gone through.

'True' friendship
Their chat focused on the deeper meaning of friendship, especially in the entertainment industry. Hashmi explained how fame and failure expose the authenticity of relationships.
He said, “When your chips are down, you really find out who your true friends are. Everyone else quietly slips away.”
The actor further added that in Bollywood, the term “friend” is often misused, with many connections based on convenience and personal gain rather than genuine care or support.
Harsh realities
Hashmi shared his own experiences from a difficult phase in his career, particularly in 2018-2019 when films like Cheat India and The Body didn’t perform well.
Hashmi reflected, "I’ve witnessed how the industry showers you with praise when you’re riding high. But all of that disappears after just one bad Friday."
He went on to say, "You start to feel like a product. It’s easy to mistake all that attention for genuine affection. But the reality is—they don’t truly love you."
Lessons learnt
“You are merely a return on the investment they make,” he said, pointing out how quickly admiration can turn to indifference once success wanes.
Ranveer resonated with these sentiments, highlighting how his recent controversy made him realise who truly stood by him during testing times.

This candid conversation not only offered a sneak peek into the realities behind Bollywood’s glamour but also humanised the emotional struggles faced by public figures.
