'Rosesh of Pakistan': Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actor takes a dig at Bilawal Bhutto

Bilawal’s speech went viral more because of how he said it and less because of what he said, as it reminded many of Rosesh’s dramatic style

Known for his iconic role as Rosesh Sarabhai in the sitcom ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’, Rajesh Kumar has mocked Pakistan’s former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, leaving social media in splits.

Kumar posted the video on Instagram following public demand, days after a clip of Zardari's speech in the Pakistani Parliament on India’s Operation Sindoor became a meme with users comparing him to ‘Rosesh Sarabhai’.

Bilawal’s speech went viral more because of how he said it and less because of what he said, as it reminded many of Rosesh’s dramatic style.

Amasses over 1 million views

Since many online users compared the Pakistan leader to Rosesh, his oddball character from the sitcom Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Rajesh said that the video was made “on public demand”.

Rajesh’s Instagram video went viral in less than and has amassed over 1.3 million views so far. He mocked the Pakistani politician by imitating his speech with a classic ‘Rosesh Sarabhai’ flair and posted the viral video alongside the caption: “ON PUBLIC DEMAND…..welcome Hon Rosesh of Pakistan.”

Kon raat ke andhere me hamle karte hai, chor raat ke andhere me hamle karte hai, buzdil raat ke andhere me hamle karte hai...agar inme himmat hoti toh yeh subah aate (who attacks at night, robbers attack at night, cowards attack at night, if they had courage, they would have come in the day),” the actor imitated Zardari's speech.

Ting tong karte aur kahte bhaiya aane do (would ring the bell and say brother, let me come),” Kumar added before he burst into laughter.

In the video, Kumar also attached the former Pakistani foreign minister’s speech which had a similar tone and style of delivery as ‘Rosesh Sarabhai’.

Lauded for witty performance

Thoroughly entertained by the video, social media users chanted “Bharat momma ki jai!” in the Rosesh way in the comment section.

A netizen stated that Rajesh Kumar should file a copyright claim against Bilawal Bhutto for speaking like Rosesh. One user said, “For every original…there is a cheap copy.”
