Student from Telangana found dead in UK; no clarity on death, says family
Family seeks quick repatriation of body; student’s father says he had spoken to family the night before his death and seemed cheerful
A 25-year-old student from Kamareddy district of Telangana, who was pursuing higher studies in the United Kingdom, was found dead in his room on June 23, his family has said.
The student, S Srinath Reddy, had gone to London 14 months ago, his father, Madhusudan Reddy, told reporters at Talamadla village in the district on Saturday (June 27).
Srinath was pursuing a Master’s degree at De Montfort University in Leicester, according to a GoFundMe page created by Srinath’s cousins, Sanoj and Manish, to help cover the cost of repatriating his body to India.

The biography on the GoFundMe page says Srinath’s family took out a loan and borrowed money from relatives to sponsor his education abroad.
Mysterious death
Reddy, however, said the circumstances surrounding his son's death are not known. He has appealed to the Centre and the state government to find the reason behind his son’s death and help expedite the repatriation of the body.
Reddy said Srinath spoke to the family on the night of June 22 and seemed perfectly normal and cheerful. He said his son had attended a birthday party that night.
Suicide angle
A family relative, whose son also resides in London, said a roommate of Srinath had found him dead on the morning of June 23. The roommate said Srinath had allegedly hung himself. The roommate, however, had informed other friends about the death only later, the family relative said.
