
Khan Sir moves Patna HC to quash FIR, seeks reopening of coaching institute
Khan Sir has moved the Patna High Court seeking quashing of the FIR linked to the June 2 violence at his coaching institute and reopening of KGS
A day after a sessions court in Patna granted him interim anticipatory bail in relation to the FIR lodged against him over the recent violence at his coaching institute, UPSC educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, has moved the Patna High Court seeking quashing of the FIR on Wednesday (June 10).

According to a report in Live Law, he also sought directions for reopening his coaching institute, which has remained closed since the incident on June 2. Following the hearing, the High Court gave the Bihar government four weeks to file its response to the plea.

The FIR stems from an incident that took place on June 2, when a crowd of around 15 to 20 individuals allegedly entered the premises of Khan Global Studies (KGS) in Patna, vandalised property and hurled stones at the coaching centre operated by Khan Sir.
June 2 violence probe
The following day, police took into custody two security personnel attached to the institute after a video purportedly showing gunfire during the disturbance surfaced on social media.
According to the police, the firearms allegedly used in the incident were recovered and forwarded for forensic analysis. Thereafter, an FIR was lodged at the Kadamkuan police station, and both security guards were remanded to judicial custody.

Earlier, Khan secured interim protection from arrest after a court in Patna directed that no coercive action be initiated against him until further orders in the matter. The development was confirmed by his counsel, who told reporters that the court had called for the case diary and other relevant records before taking up the matter for further consideration.
Interim relief and bail plea
Khan had approached the court seeking anticipatory bail after being named in the FIR registered in connection with the June 2 violence at his coaching institute in Patna. During the course of the investigation, police examined CCTV footage as well as videos circulating on social media that allegedly showed two security guards employed by Khan Global Studies firing shots during the disturbance.
The defence submitted that all relevant facts had been placed before the court and maintained that Khan would fully cooperate with the investigating authorities. The matter is expected to be considered further after the case records are produced before the court.
