‘My whole world just you two’: After expulsion, Tej Pratap’s post for parents; dig at ‘traitors’

In a post on X, RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son, who was recently expelled from party, blames ‘greedy people’ for his predicament

Following his dramatic expulsion from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by party chief and father Lalu Prasad Yadav reportedly over a controversial social media post, former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav has now blamed “greedy people playing politics with him” for his predicament.

In an X post, addressed to his father and mother, Rabri Devi, Tej Pratap said he would follow their orders and needs nothing but their love and trust.

'Jaichand' swipe

The former Bihar minister also took an apparent dig at those who supported his father’s decision to expel him from the party, calling them ‘Jaichand’ – a name which has been metaphorically used to denote a traitor. Jaichand was a 12th century king of the Gahadavala dynasty who betrayed ruler Prithviraj Chauhan.

“My whole world is just you two. You and any order given by you are greater than God. If you are there then I have everything. I just need your trust and love and nothing else. Papa, if you were not there then this party would not have been there and neither would greedy people like Jaichand who do politics with me. Just mummy papa, may you both always be healthy and happy. #TejParatapYadav,” the post on X said.

Tej Pratap, however, did not elaborate on what he meant by people playing politics with him.

Viral post, expulsion

On May 25, Lalu Prasad expelled Tej Pratap, his elder son, from the party and snapped all family ties with him, stating that his actions were "irresponsible" and not in accordance with public conduct.

The decision was taken after a controversial Facebook post by Tej Pratap a day before went viral. In the post, Tej Pratap had shared the photo of a woman called Anushka Yadav and claimed that they had been in a relationship for the past 12 years. He, however, later claimed that his account had been hacked.

Tej Pratap’s expulsion came barely a few months ahead of the Bihar assembly polls, which the RJD will fight under the leadership of Lalu’s Prasad's younger son, Tejashwi Yadav.
