'It's become difficult to live': Delhi judge made distress call to father before suicide
Relatives of judicial officer Aman Kumar Sharma, who died by suicide at his Delhi home, have alleged he faced mental harassment from his wife and sister-in-law
Hours before his death, Aman Kumar Sharma, the Delhi judge who was found dead by suicide on May 2, had made an alleged distress call to his father Prem Sharma.
According to reports, Aman Kumar told his father that he was "very troubled" and it has become "difficult" for him to live. And, he complained of being "harassed for two months”.
His father, who was in Alwar, immediately left for Delhi and reached his son's residence around midnight. However, his daughter-in-law Swati allegedly asked him to leave.
Couple dispute
According to the family's version, Aman Kumar was facing harassment from his wife for the past two months. They further added that a heated argument took place inside the house on the day Aman killed himself.

"His wife was very angry and was shouting, while Aman was crying. Then suddenly everything went quiet," Aman Kumar's relative Rajesh Sharma told PTI.
The relative also told reporters that the judge’s sister-in-law, a civil servant posted in Jammu and Kashmir, had been allegedly “meddling” in the couple’s matters. Relatives also alleged that when they tried to reach the wife's parents, their numbers were blocked. A relative from the wife's side was also called to intervene but stepped away, saying he could not get involved.
Suicide note
Aman Kumar allegedly hung himself inside the bathroom of his second-floor flat in Green Park Main. Police and building security personnel had to climb through a utility shaft and break open a window to gain access after the door was found locked from the inside. The judge was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital around 1.30 pm, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Aman Kumar had left behind a note in which he said no one is responsible for his death.
Probe is on
Citing the father's purported statement to police, relatives alleged that Aman Kumar's wife Swati and his sister Nidhi Malik, also a judicial officer, exercised complete control over the household.
While the police have claimed that it is a case of suicide, the investigation is being conducted probing all angles, even as official statements are being recorded.
