‘Diaper drive’ marks 4th day of CJP sit-in, Dipke hits back at Pradhan’s ‘terrorist’ remark
CJP’s protest at Jantar Mantar completes four days; Dipke rebuts Pradhan’s ‘terrorist’ jibe and vows to press on until student justice is delivered
New Delhi, Jun 23 (PTI) The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continued its sit-in protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday, with protesters holding a "diaper donation drive" as part of their campaign seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET-UG paper leak and examination irregularities.
The group shared posts on X showing protesters waving diapers and raising slogans of "Go Pradhan Go" during the campaign.
The CJP had earlier appealed to supporters to bring diapers to the protest site, write their demand for Pradhan's resignation on them and participate in the "Diaper A Day Keeps Leaks Away" drive.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke hit back at Pradhan over his alleged remark calling the group a "B team of terrorists". Dipke shared a video clip on X, which he showed Pradhan making the alleged remarks.
Reacting to it, Dipke said, "Imagine what Pradhan said. While we are demanding justice for students who committed suicide, he said CJP is a B team of terrorists. The education minister is calling the youth of this country terrorists." "Sir, we are not terrorists. We don't need a certificate of patriotism from people like you who are responsible for the deaths of innocent students," he said.
In another post on X, Dipke said, "Dharmendra Pradhan calls us terrorists. But the irony is that he is the one with the blood of more than 17 students on his hands." On Tuesday, as farmer groups held a protest against the India-US trade deal at Jantar Mantar under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha-Non Political, Dipke expressed solidarity.
In a series of posts on X, he said, "Barricades may separate us physically, but not our cause. Farmers and students stand united in our quest for justice. Jai Jawan-Jai Kisaan!" CJP has maintained that the protest will continue until Pradhan resigns.
The sit-in, which began on Saturday, has seen participation from students, aspirants and members of several student organisations.
Late on Monday night, the group alleged that police attempted to reduce the protest area by moving barricades and "squeezing the protest site into a smaller area".
The CJP has been demanding accountability over alleged paper leaks and examination irregularities, including the NEET controversy, and has maintained that the protest will continue until Pradhan resigns. PTI
