
Karnataka to set up 10,000 Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas: Dy CM Parameshwara

Bengaluru, Jul 13 (PTI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Monday said the government has issued an order to establish 10,000 'Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas' (youth clubs) statewide, aimed at boosting leadership, sports, culture, scientific temper and social harmony.
This was among the first few initiatives announced by the D K Shivakumar-led cabinet, soon after it took charge of governing the state on June 3.
"We have issued an official order to establish 10,000 Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas across Gram Panchayats and urban wards to promote sports, culture, scientific temper and social harmony among young people," Parameshwara posted on 'X'.
He said, "One Sangha will be formed in every Gram Panchayat; one for every 4,000 people in Town Panchayats; every 6,000 people in Municipalities; every 8,000 people in City Municipal Councils; and every 10,000 people within Municipal Corporation and GBA limits." The initiative will be implemented by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, with support from the Departments of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Urban Development, Revenue and Education, he added.
