Bengaluru: Man stabs wife to death on road, arrested

According to reports, the man suspected his wife of infidelity and decided to take her life in full public view, in the middle of the street


A man murdered his wife on a road in Bengaluru on Friday night (April 5) suspecting her fidelity. The accused was caught by bystanders and handed over to police.

Krishnappa (43) killed K Sharada (35) by stabbing her repeatedly in the neck with a knife around 8 pm, in Chikkathoguru, Electronic City.

Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sarah Fatima, along with a forensic team visited the crime scene.

Accused tries to flee

According to reports, the man suspected his wife of infidelity and decided to take her life in full public view, in the middle of the street. When he attempted to flee the scene, locals chased him down and restrained him till the police arrived.

Krishnappa travelled from Bagepalli in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka and waited for his wife on her route back like she usually does. Sharada worked as a domestic worker and was on her way back home.

When she approached him, he brutally assaulted her and repeatedly stabbed her in the neck. Sharada collapsed on the spot and died before any medical assistance could arrive.

Preplanned murder

The couple had been married for 17 years and had two children, a son (15) and a daughter (12). Police said they were living separately.

According to media reports, the murder was preplanned as Krishnappa had bought two new knives. A case is registered and an investigation is underway.
