Bengaluru man ‘strangles’ 2 minor daughters, attempts suicide in 5-star hotel room
Police say marital discord likely cause as 40-year-old man suspected wife of having illicit relationship and didn’t want his children to be raised by her
A 40-year-old man allegedly strangled his two minor daughters and later attempted suicide inside a five-star hotel room in Bengaluru.
The deceased were identified as Shaik Zehara, 5, and Shaik Zoya, 10, police said on Monday
Children dead on bed, father’s throat slit
A police team was rushed to the hotel after its security manager alerted them in the evening about the suspected deaths of two children.
The two children were reportedly found lying dead on the bed while the father, SG Imran, 40, was discovered in a pool of blood in the bathroom with his throat slit.

Police said Imran, a resident of Nagavara in north Bengaluru, allegedly strangled his two daughters before attempting suicide.
He was rushed to Bengaluru’s Manipal Hospital and is said to be in a critical state.
Marital discord the reason: police
A note recovered from the spot stated that he was involved in a marital dispute with his wife and suspected her of having an illicit relationship. He also claimed to have evidence of the alleged relationship, police said.
“I didn’t want my kids to grow up with this kind of mother, so I decided to kill them myself,” NDTV quoted police’s version of Imran.

"We are verifying the allegations and have taken up the case. We are investigating the circumstances that led to the killings," a senior police officer told PTI.
Investigation on
According to NDTV, Deputy Commissioner of Police GK Mithun Kumar has said that police will file a murder case and that more about the murders and the suicide bid will come to light after talking to Imran’s family.
Further investigation is underway.
