Karnataka: Ex-DGP's wife claims her husband 'poisoned' her; calls him 'monster'
On IPS officers group, Pallavi had alleged that her husband poisoned her and held her hostage; her son told the police his mother is suffering from depression
The wife of ex-Karnataka top cop Om Prakash, who is currently detained by the police after her husband was found dead with multiple stab wounds at their residence, had suspected her husband of poisoning her and she cured herself with "ghee and lime" to detox herself.
She also called her neighbour after allegedly killing her husband and told her that she had “killed the monster”.
According to reports in NDTV, who has accessed messages sent by Om Prakash's wife, Pallavi, to multiple WhatsApp groups, she had complained of being held as a "hostage" in her own home and always "under surveillance by Om Prakash’s agents".
She had made all these allegations against her husband on the IPS's officers WhatsApp group.

Depression and schizophrenia
On April 20, former Karnataka DGP (68 years), a 1981-batch IPS officer, was found dead at his home with multiple stab wounds. Pallavi, it is alleged, threw chilli powder in his eyes after a fight on Sunday (April 20) afternoon, tied him up, and stabbed him multiple times.
The role of the daughter Kruthi in the murder is being probed and she is also detained by the police.
The report also pointed out that investigations have revealed that Pallavi was suffering from schizophrenia and other mental health issues.
Her son, too, told the police that she had been suffering from depression and these messages are not to be taken at face value, said the report.
Poisoning her food
Pallavi claimed that she had been “asking him to live separately for years” and urged other IPS officers on the group to get the current DGP to find her an alternative accommodation.
She also alleged that Om Prakash would get the househelps to poison her food.
Pallavi also claimed her daughter Kruthi too was suffering because of her husband.
According to Pallavi she used ghee and lime to detox herself and her daughter. Food deliveries were "adulterated" too on her husband's instructions, she pointed out, attributing this behaviour to money and power.
Killed the monster
In her words, the "dark world" operates much differently from "our normal world".

After allegedly killing her husband, Pallavi then video-called the neighbour, who is the wife of another cop, and told her that she had killed her husband, who she called “monster”.
The neighbour informed her husband and the police reached Om Prakash's residence and promptly detained Pallavi and the couple's daughter Kruthi.
Pallavi and her daughter, Kruthi, are being questioned by the police for over 12 hours.
Complaint filed
A case has been filed based on a complaint by Om Prakash's son, Kartikeya.
According to Kartikeya, his mother and sister suffer from depression. They have been threatening to kill his father for the past week, he said. For this reason, Om Prakash had moved to his sister's home but he returned home after his daughter coaxed him to do so.
After the murder, the wife and daughter locked themselves in a room before the police arrived.
