
Om Prakash, Karnataka’s ex-DGP, murdered; wife in police custody
The police suspect that the murder might have been committed by Om Prakash's wife Pallavi using a knife found at the scene, which has been seized as evidence
Former Inspector General (IG) and Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was brutally killed at his Bengaluru home on Sunday (April 20).

His blood-soaked body was found inside his residence in HSR Layout, leading to an immediate investigation by Bengaluru Police.
Wife in police custody
Initial investigations have raised strong suspicions against his wife, Pallavi. She has been taken into police custody for questioning, as early evidence and circumstantial details suggest a possible domestic conflict that might have led to the incident.
Om Prakash lived with his wife Pallavi post-retirement. He is survived by two children.
Reportedly, there had been frequent quarrels and personal disagreements between the couple in recent days.

The case has been registered at the HSR Layout Police Station.
Senior police officers have visited the crime scene and are actively involved in the investigation.
The 68-year-old IPS officer, from the 1981 batch, was a native of Champaran, Bihar, and held a Master’s degree in Geology.
Prakash was appointed Director General of Police on March 1, 2015.
