He submitted his resignation to Prabhu Shankar, Special Secretary to Karnataka Governor, as Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot is out of the state, and will return to Bengaluru tonight.
During his second term as the Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah surpassed the record of Congress veteran and fellow Mysurian Devaraj Urs, becoming the longest-serving Chief Minister of Karnataka on January 7, reaching 2,792 days.
