Three murders in Bengaluru within hours: Two women, history-sheeter killed
Three separate murders in Bengaluru claimed the lives of two women and a history-sheeter within hours. Police have launched investigations into all three cases
Three murders, including that of two women and a history sheeter, took place in Bengaluru in separate incidents within hours.
Police said that the incidents took place on Sunday (June 28) in different parts of the city. A 23-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend after the couple had argued about marriage.
According to investigators, the deceased, Mahalakshmi Layout, has been in a relationship with Rajeev for over three years, but her family opposed the relationship due to his criminal background. The accused was arrested within minutes of the incident.
Second woman found dead
In another incident, a 40-year-old woman from the northern part of the country was found murdered at her rented accommodation in Muniyappa Layout under the Bommanahalli police station limits on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Krishna Barman, is suspected to have been strangled by someone known to her, according to the police, reported India Today.
History-sheeter hacked
Hours later, in a separate incident, a history-sheeter was hacked to death on the busy JP Nagar Road near IG Circle. The victim, Raja alias Halmuk Raja, was attacked by a group of unidentified assailants in the evening.

Police said CCTV footage captured the entire sequence of the murder. The attackers, who arrived in a yellow-board car, allegedly intercepted Raja before chasing him on the road and repeatedly attacking him with machetes. Investigators said the assailants continued the assault even after Raja collapsed, before escaping in the same vehicle.
Retaliation angle probed
The brutal attack unfolded in full public view, leaving bystanders stunned. Raja was shifted to a private hospital, where he was declared dead after succumbing to multiple injuries.
According to the police, Raja had a long criminal history, with cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery registered against him. Investigators suspect the killing could be a retaliatory attack linked to the murder of Banashankari rowdy-sheeter Kutti nearly a decade ago. Raja had also been named as an accused in that case, police said.
Police said the investigation is continuing in all three murder cases.
