DMK protests outside TN Assembly, targets TVK govt over law and order

DMK MLAs led by Udhayanidhi Stalin protested outside the Tamil Nadu Assembly, raising concerns over law and order and crimes against women

Chennai, Jun 18 (PTI) DMK MLAs, led by Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin, staged a protest outside the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Thursday ahead of its inaugural session, targeting the newly formed TVK government over the alleged deterioration of law and order.

Wearing black badges, the legislators raised slogans demanding accountability from Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay concerning a reported rise in crimes against women.

They also accused the ruling party of "attempting to weaken the opposition" through political inducements.

The demonstration occurred just before Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar delivered his maiden address to the House, outlining the state's development blueprint under the new administration. PTI
