Sangeetha, the wife of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, on Friday (August 7) withdrew the divorce petition she had filed against him in the Chengalpattu Family Court, leading the court to formally close the proceedings.
Sangeetha had approached the court seeking a divorce, alleging that her husband was involved in an extramarital relationship. The matter was listed for hearing today (August 7).

Appearing via video conference, she informed the court of her decision to withdraw the petition. The Chengalpattu Family Court accepted her request and ordered the case closed.
Informed sources have indicated that the couple had reached an out-of-court settlement in recent days. They pointed to a notable shift in the family’s public stance last week, when the couple’s son, Jason, an emerging film director who resides with his mother, gave an interview to a private firm in which he spoke positively about his father.

Jason, who had previously refrained from commenting on Chief Minister Vijay in public, praised his father for the first time. Observers interpreted the remarks as a clear signal that relations between the estranged parties had begun to improve.
