Telangana minister stirs up huge row linking Samantha-Naga Chaitanya divorce to KT Rama Rao
Senior actor Nagarjuna slammed the Congress politician in a X post condemning her remarks, calling them "completely irrelevant and false" and demanded she withdraws them
A Telangana minister has stirred up a huge controversy after she alleged that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao is responsible for actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's divorce. Her allegations sparked off a harsh reaction from Naga Chaitanya's father Nagarjuna Akkinneni, who has demanded that the Congress leader withdraws her statement.
Lashing out at KT Rama Rao, son of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the state forest minister Surekha blamed Rao for many actresses leaving movies and marrying early. Surekha accused him of blackmailing film personalities after getting them addicted to drugs.

Irrelevant and false
Dragging Samantha and Naga Chaitanya into what is a political battle clearly did not go down well with the actor's father, veteran Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni.
Nagarjuna slammed the politician in a X post condemning her remarks calling them "completely irrelevant and false". He demanded that she withdraws them.
"I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don't use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents," he said on X. And added, "Please respect other people's privacy".
"As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately," he added.
BRS demands apology
Meanwhile, Rao remained silent and did not react to her charges, while a BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao Thanneeru asked for an unconditional apology from the Congress leader.
Konda Surekha had also accused Rao for a series of offensive online posts against her.
She was trolled after a photo showing a BJP leader and Medak MP Raghunandan Rao garlanding her at a programme. She accused BRS leaders of using the incident to demean her.
Naga Chaitanya, who divorced Samantha two years ago, got engaged to actor Sobhita Dhulipala in August.
Samantha, who has been facing health challenges, is waiting for the release of her film, 'Citadel: Honey Bunny,' alongside Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, directed by 'The Family Man' directors Raj & DK.
