Mumbai: Zeeshan Siddique gets death threat; security stepped up
NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique received the threat via email demanding Rs 10 crore and warning him that he would be killed in the 'same way' as his father
Zeeshan Siddique, son of slain NCP leader Baba Siddique, has received a chilling death threat via email, according to Mumbai police.
The sender has demanded a ransom of ₹10 crore and warned Siddique of being killed "just like his father." The email further said that Siddique would receive such emails every six hours, the officials added.
Siddique, who serves as an NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) MLA, claimed that the death threat email he received was sent by 'D company'.

Siddique also stated that he has been receiving multiple threatening emails over the past three days and that his family is disturbed because of this.
Baba Siddique's murder
This is not the first time Zeeshan has faced such threats. Since the murder of his father Baba Siddique in October 2024 outside his Bandra East office, by three assailants, Zeeshan has been the target of a series of threats — many of which have been linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Mumbai police investigations into Baba Siddique’s assassination revealed that Akashdeep Gill, a suspect arrested in Punjab, coordinated the hit using a labourer’s mobile hotspot.
He allegedly acted under the direction of gangster Anmol Bishnoi and was identified as the logistics coordinator in the murder plot orchestrated by notorious gangster.
Past threats
In the months following the murder, Zeeshan’s office received multiple suspicious messages.
One came from Mohammad Tayyab, a Noida tattoo artist, who was arrested for sending eight WhatsApp messages to Zeeshan Siddique's office.
Tayyab claimed that he overheard members of the Bishnoi gang discussing plans to harm Zeeshan and Salman Khan.
Another, from Bandra resident Azam Mohammed Mustafa, demanded ₹2 crore and was later arrested for fabricating the threat after watching news coverage of previous threats.

Security boosted
Given the sustained threats, Zeeshan’s security was increased, and he was put under ‘Y’ category protection.
In response to Siddique's complaint, the police have initiated an investigation into the threat and extortion demand, and are in the process of recording his statement.
Authorities, led by DCP Nimit Goyal, have told the media that they are now in the process of formally registering an FIR and continuing the investigation.
