RCB fan writes to Karnataka CM requesting state holiday if team wins IPL
Shivanand Mallannavar has also urged Siddaramaiah to officially declare the day RCB wins the IPL a “RCB Fans’ Festival”, on the lines of the Karnataka Rajyotsava
India is a cricket country, and there is no lack of passionate fans. But some take their passion for cricket or their favourite team to another level and go to any extent to show their love for the teams they wholeheartedly support.
Request for public holiday
One such fan, Shivanand Mallannavar from Belagavi district in Karnataka, has taken the love for cricket to another level.
A diehard fan of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Shivanand has written to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah urging him that if they win this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) on June 3, the day be declared a holiday.
In his passionate appeal to the Chief Minister, Shivanand has also urged him to officially declare the day RCB win the IPL a “RCB Fans’ Festival”, on the lines of the Karnataka Rajyotsava.
He urged the state government to declare a public holiday on that day every year so as to provide an opportunity for RCB fans to celebrate the momentous event across the state.
