Air India on Saturday announced it will provide an interim payment of Rs 25 lakh to the families of the deceased and survivors of the Ahmedabad plane crash
A high-level committee, led by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, will investigate the causes of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad (June 12) that killed 241 people. The panel comprises civil aviation officials, security experts, and representatives from disaster response.

AIB believes that decoding of the black box will provide crucial information: K Ram Mohan Naidu, Civil Aviation Minister
"It was moment of shock after we got to know about the incident. I rushed to the spot to oversee the rescue operation. As we reached the spot, the Gujarat government has already deployed teams which were trying to douse the blames and take other necessary measures. From the Ministry, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) was immediately mobilised and rushed to the spot and initiated probe. One important update in the investigation is the recovering of the black box. AIB believes that decoding of the black box will provide crucial information.
