Operation Sindoor LIVE I Pak violates ceasefire hours after announcement

Trump claimed to have mediated the truce

Within two and a half hours of India and Pakistan agreeing to a “full and immediate ceasefire” of armed escalation, beginning 17.00 hrs on May 10 (Saturday), several sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir have reported massive artillery shelling and drone intrusions.

A blackout has also been imposed across Jammu district, which saw the first ceasefire violations occur around 7.30 PM in the Akhnoor and RS Pura sectors. Soon after, locals from Arnia and Pargwal also reported “heavy artillery fire” by Pakistan while drones were seen zipping across the skies of Jammu city. By 7.30 PM, similar reports of ceasefire violations by Pakistan began coming from Anantnag, Budgam, Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley too.

Ceasefire announcement

Earlier in the evening Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has announced that the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan have agreed to stop all firings and military action on land, air, and sea from 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The foreign secretary's brief announcement came shortly after US President Donald Trump said India and Pakistan had agreed to a "full and immediate" ceasefire after US-mediated talks.

The DGMO of Pakistan called the DGMO of India at 3.35 pm earlier this afternoon, Misri said.

"It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land, and in the air and sea, with effect from 5 pm on Saturday," he said.

Gujarat: Residents in Kutch advised to stay indoors

The administration in Gujarat's Kutch issued an advisory on Saturday (May 10) asking citizens to stay indoors and not step out unnecessarily in view of the military standoff between India and Pakistan.

The advisory has come after the Indian Armed Forces thwarted drone attacks from Pakistan at Kutch on Friday night (May 9), and blackouts were enforced in Kutch and two other districts of Gujarat.

"All citizens should stay safe indoors. Do not step out of the house unnecessarily, and do not pay attention to any rumours. Do not panic," the Kutch collector stated in a post on the administration's official handle on 'X' on Saturday morning.

District headquarters Bhuj was one of the 26 places along the international borders and the Line of Control with Pakistan where drones were sighted, the military said on Friday.

A blackout was implemented in the Kutch district, with power supply cut off in some areas of Banaskantha and Patan districts, which are close to the Indo-Pak border, on Friday night. Some villages bordering Santalpur taluka of Patan are also under blackout, it was stated.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday met officials from the Armed Forces and assured them that they won't face any difficulty in carrying out their operations in the state. The meeting was aimed at establishing better coordination between government departments and armed and paramilitary forces operating in the state, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi said after the interaction in Gandhinagar on Friday.

    Delhi airport update

Operations at the Delhi airport are presently normal though some flights might be impacted due to the evolving airspace conditions amid the military conflict between India and Pakistan, officials said.

Enhanced security measures have been put in place at airports across the country as the military conflict between the two nations intensified.

Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), which operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital, said in a post on X that operations are presently normal at the airport.

"However, due to evolving airspace conditions and enhanced security measures, as per the orders of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, some flight schedules may be impacted and security checkpoint processing times may take longer," it said.

Passengers have also been advised to arrive early to accommodate potential delays at security checks.

The DIAL also requested passengers to cooperate with the airline and security staff for smooth facilitation.

On Friday, 138 flights to and from Delhi airport were cancelled by various airlines.
