Proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 2 pm on Thursday (July 30) amid continued protests and heated exchanges between the Treasury and Opposition benches during the Monsoon Session.
Opposition MPs, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, protested in the Parliament House complex on Thursday against alleged police excesses against student protesters and theft of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The MPs protested in front of Makar Dwar of Parliament. Slogans such as 'chadhawa chor, gaddi chhor', 'grih mantri sadan mein aao' and 'who gave the order' were raised by the lawmakers.

The protesting MPs lined up behind a big banner that read 'who gave the order', an apparent reference to the directions to security personnel to use lethal force against student protesters at the recent agitation against NEET paper leak.
The INDIA bloc has vowed to corner the government on issues of alleged theft of donations at the Ram temple and the use of "brutal force" against students during their protests last week.
CJP chief takes a jibe at PM Modi
Meanwhile, asserting that student protesters are “not terrorists”, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday demanded action against officials who ordered pellet gun firing at Jantar Mantar on July 20. Warning that continued police harassment would prompt young people to “change the government”, he also took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he should step down and "become an influencer" instead.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s recent Instagram videos addressing the youth, Dipke told reporters in his hometown in Maharashtra, “I think [PM Modi] should become an influencer. He is doing very well at that. If he is such a good influencer, then he should leave the Prime Minister's chair, become an influencer, and let someone else do the job.”
‘Students can change govt’
Dipke also sought strict legal action against officials who authorised the use of pellet guns against student demonstrators at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar and warned that the government should not presume that students' anger has decreased after Pradhan's resignation.
"Whether it be Amit Shah (or anyone else), action should be taken against the person who gave orders to fire pellet guns," Dipke said. He also warned that if need be, the students may launch a fresh agitation on a "much bigger scale".

"These students are not terrorists. They are the future of our country. If the future of the country is troubled in such a way, just as Dharmendra Pradhan had to step down...Tomorrow, we will go and change the government if it doesn't fall in line," the CJP founder added.

Opposition raises 'Amit Shah Sadan mein aao' slogans in Rajya Sabha

BJP MP slams Rahul Gandhi over student protest claims
BJP MP Damodar Agarwal on Thursday criticised Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of repeatedly disrupting Parliament with what he described as unfounded allegations against the Centre.
Speaking to reporters, Agarwal claimed Gandhi had shifted his focus from the NEET paper leak issue to fresh accusations against the government.
He said Gandhi had initially sought a discussion on NEET, later demanded the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and was now alleging that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had ordered a shooting.
"Since no shooting actually took place, the question of who fired the shot does not even arise," Agarwal said.
The BJP MP also accused the Congress leader of attempting to create unnecessary controversy over the issue.
He alleged that Gandhi was trying to turn a "non-issue into an issue" and incite public discontent.

KC Venugopal demands Shah's reply on Delhi Police action
Congress MP K.C. Venugopal on Thursday demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah explain the police action during the July 20 student protest in Delhi, accusing the government of avoiding accountability in Parliament.
Speaking to reporters during the Opposition's protest at Makar Dwar, Venugopal questioned who had authorised the use of force against the demonstrators.
"Who ordered the police action in Delhi? Who ordered the firing at the students in Delhi?" he asked.
Venugopal said the Home Minister should address the issue in Parliament instead of remaining silent amid the controversy.
"We want an answer from the Home Minister of India. Why is the Home Minister of India running away from Parliament?..." he said.
He also accused the government of denying the Opposition an opportunity to raise the matter in the House.

Kapil Sibal seeks Amit Shah's reply on pellet gun use
Independent Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Thursday questioned the Centre over the alleged use of pellet guns during the July 20 student protest in Delhi, saying responsibility for the action could not be avoided.
Speaking to reporters, Sibal said, "It is clear that if someone opened fire or caused injuries using a pellet gun, someone must have authorised it," reported ANI.
He argued that any decision to permit such action would have required official approval and questioned the silence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
"If the SDM granted permission, has the Home Minister ever said the SDM acted wrongly? Why is the Home Minister silent? That silence suggests it happened with his consent. Otherwise, he would have publicly stated that the SDM acted incorrectly," Sibal said.
He also accused the BJP of changing its stand after injuries to protesters came into public view.
"On one hand, the BJP initially denied that pellet guns had been used, but after Rahul Gandhi showed injuries on people's faces and bodies, they had to acknowledge that they had been fired. Therefore, the Home Minister must take responsibility, yet he neither comes to the House, issues a statement, nor admits that a mistake was made..." he said.

Opposition MPs protest police action, Ram Temple donation row in Parliament
Opposition MPs from INDIA bloc parties staged a protest at Makar Dwar in the Parliament complex on Thursday, accusing the Centre of allowing excessive police action against student protesters and demanding answers over alleged irregularities in donations made to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Gathering with placards, the MPs questioned the handling of the July 20 protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar ahead of the Rajya Sabha's discussion on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain said, "The entire opposition will hold a protest here in front of Makar Dwar, and then we will also decide our future course of action in today's meeting."
Referring to the student agitation, he added, "There were three demands. One, Pradhan should resign. Second, they should come to the House and make a statement--which they haven't done--regarding police atrocities. Third, the Prime Minister should apologise. Two demands are still remaining."
Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav also renewed his party's demand for accountability in the alleged Ram Temple donation case.

CRPF DG stands by personnel amid excess force allegations
As questions continue over allegations of excessive force during the anti-NEET paper leak protests in Delhi and other cities, CRPF Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh has publicly backed personnel carrying out their duties in good faith.
Speaking at the CRPF investiture ceremony on July 27, Singh reassured officers and jawans that the leadership would stand with them when decisions were taken honestly in the line of duty.
He told the gathering, "Whatever decisions and actions you take in the bona fide discharge of your duties, I take responsibility for them".
Singh also urged personnel, "Continue to perform your duties fearlessly; do not hesitate while carrying out your responsibilities," reported India Today.
Reinforcing that message, he added, "Wherever responsibility or accountability needs to be taken, I will take it as the Director General of the CRPF".
His remarks came after criticism of police and Rapid Action Force action during the July 20 "Sansad Chalo" march at Jantar Mantar, where students protesting the NEET paper leak attempted to march towards the Parliament.
Protesters claimed tear gas, lathi charges and pellet rounds left several people injured while security personnel tried to disperse the crowd.
The CRPF has started an internal inquiry into claims of disproportionate force, including the alleged use of pellet guns and shock batons. The inquiry will review social media videos, media reports and statements from personnel involved in the deployment.
The force has also said disciplinary action will follow if any breach of rules is established. At the same time, Singh's remarks have reassured CRPF personnel as political confrontation, court proceedings and the internal inquiry continue.
