You gave away PoK, we will get it back: Shah's dig at Congress
Opposition MPs walk out over PM Modi's absence in the Rajya Sabha
Union Home Minister Amit Shah's address in the Rajya Sabha is currently underway. Taking a dig at the Congress, Shah declared, "You gave away Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, and it's our duty to take it back."
Shah also provided an update on recent security operations, stating, "The identity of three terrorists killed in Op Mahadev established Lashkar-e-Taiba’s hand in the Pahalgam attack."
Reads out PM's speech
He read out the Prime Minister's speech delivered on April 24, 2025, and said that following the PM’s guidance, not only were terrorists eliminated but their launch pad was also destroyed. He said that the government decided to end the one-sided Indus Water Treaty as Indian farmers have their rights on the Indus water.
Shah said that at least 100 people were killed and the headquarters of terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were destroyed by the Modi government.
“I proudly declare to the world... Hindus can never be terrorists,” he said, questioning the Congress Party for filing false cases against many "patriotic religious institutions".
“The Congress never took any concrete steps for the preparation of the Indian Army. During the war with China, we didn’t even have proper clothes to wear in the cold... there was neither salt nor matchsticks, and we had a severe shortage of guns and cartridges.” Shah said, under the leadership of Modiji, the Army is equipped with modern weapons like the BrahMos missile.
Earlier, when Shah began to speak, Opposition parties protested and demanded that the Prime Minister should be present in the House. However, when the Chair refused to entertain their demand, they staged a walkout.

Shah says no Hindu can ever be a terrorist; slams Chidambaram's remarks
Amit Shah slammed Congress leader P Chidambaram for saying Operation Sindoor cannot be termed "decisive".
The Union Home Minister went on to ask Chidambaram, who was not present in the Rajya Sabha, whether 1965 and 1971 wars were decisive.
He also said that he can proudly say that no Hindu can ever be a terrorist.
"Chidambaram said that it cannot be said that Operation Sindoor was decisive. I would like to respond to him, even though he is not (present) here. Were the 1965 and 1971 wars decisive? If yes, then why did terrorism continue to spread? Until the enemy is either afraid or reformed, there won’t be a decisive end. For all these years, no action was taken to intimidate them, so why would they be afraid? ... I can proudly say that no Hindu can ever be a terrorist," said Shah.

Shah slams Congress for questioning timing of kiilling terrorists involved in Pahalgam attack
Amit Shah hits out at Congress and Rahul Gandhi for questioning the timing of killing three terrorists who were involved in Pahalgam attack.
He accused the Congress of prioritising politics over national security and ending terrorism.
"Yesterday, you (Congress) were asking why they (Pahalgam terrorists) were killed on this day? Why should they not have been killed yesterday? Because Rahul Gandhi was supposed to deliver his speech? It doesn't work like this. The entire country is seeing that Congress' priority is not national security and ending terrorism but it is politics, their vote bank and appeasement politics," Shah said.

Kharge said that the Opposition had posed questions to PM Modi and not to Home Minister Amit Shah.
He added that Modi should come to the Rajya Sabha.

Lok Sabha gives nod to statutory resolution approving extension of President's Rule in Manipur
Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed a resolution approving extension of President's Rule in Manipur by another six months beyond August 13, with the government asserting that peace is prevailing in the northeastern state.
What can be a bigger proof of peace returning there than the fact that since President's Rule was imposed, there has been only one fatality with no casualties in the last four months, Minister of State Nityanand Rai said.
It is important to have President's Rule in Manipur for ensuring that peace is established, he said.
"I want to say that there is peace prevailing there...the law and order situation is also under control. Full efforts are being made to remove differences between the two ethnic communities through dialogue to establish permanent peace," he said.
Rai had moved the statutory resolution to extend President's Rule in the state for discussion in Lok Sabha.
Speaker Om Birla said President's Rule was imposed in Manipur on February 13 and the House had approved it on April 2.
The approval of the President's Rule by Parliament is valid for six months.
