Nehru-Congress-bashing again and again; Modi concludes his 100-minute speech
No country stopped India from acting in its defence, PM Modi stressed, replying to Rahul's remarks
Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Tuesday (July 29) that no world leader had told India to stop Operation Sindoor as he lashed out at the Congress for “importing issues from Pakistan” and said the Opposition party is joining terrorists and their masterminds in shedding tears after the victorious Indian military action.

Replying to an over 16-hour discussion in Lok Sabha on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, Modi rebutted the Opposition’s charge over US President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of mediating “ceasefire”, saying he had told US Vice President J D Vance on May 9 night that Pakistan will pay dearly for any attack on India.
In his 102-minute speech, the prime minister lauded India’s military action as a “vijayotsav” (victory celebration) and told the House amid cheers from the treasury benches that he was presenting the “stand of Bharat”.
“India destroyed Pakistan’s military strength between May 9 and May 10. Pakistan now clearly understands that India’s response will always get bigger and that India can do anything if it engages in any misadventure in future,” he said, emphasising that Operation Sindoor is continuing.
What transpired that day
Modi said Vance called him up a few times but he was busy in meetings with the armed forces brass and returned the call later. “The Vice President told me that Pakistan is going to launch a big attack. I told him if this is Pakistan’s intention, then this will cost it dearly. We will respond with a bigger attack. We will fire cannonballs against their bullets.” “No world leader asked India to stop its military operation,” he said.
India has made it clear that it will respond to terror on its terms, won't tolerate nuclear blackmail and will treat terror sponsors and masterminds alike, he said.
On Trump's claim
No country stopped India from acting in its defence, PM Modi stressed, adding that only three of the 193 UN members spoke in favour of Pakistan, remarks which came soon after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi claimed no country condemned Pakistan and cited Trump’s claims to question Modi’s leadership.
Modi then turned on the Congress. The Opposition party has fallen to such a low that despite governing India for so long, it does not trust the country’s establishment and its trust is in fact guided by remote control in Pakistan, he said. Modi kept raking up Congress and Jawaharlal Nehru and blamed the party and India's first Prime Minister for many of India's ''follies''.

Kanimozhi slams govt over J-K tourism hit, divisive politics, and lack of accountability
DMK MP Kanimozhi stated that 13 lakh tourist bookings have been cancelled in Jammu and Kashmir, and questioned what the government has done for those who invested in the region's tourism. “Do you even care for them?” she asked.
She acknowledged that the government sent diverse delegations abroad to reflect India's unity, but questioned: “Why is your politics within India so divisive?”
“Anyone who questions you is labelled anti-national. Why do you want to divide us? Unity is our strength—we must stand together,” she asserted.
Kanimozhi demanded accountability over insensitive remarks by BJP leaders, asking what action was taken against those who shamed Colonel Sofiya Qureshi or mocked victims for “lacking warrior spirit.”
She also asked why no one in the government publicly defended officer Vikram Misri when he was targeted.
Reiterating her party's support after Operation Sindoor, she said,“We stood with the Government of India — but you do not trust us. Did you call us after the operation or after sending delegations to tell us what happened?”

Kanimozhi slams govt for Pahalgam attack, asks what ‘Vishwaguru’ has learnt from attack
DMK MP Kanimozhi asked why, after every terrorist attack, the self-proclaimed “Vishwaguru” does not reflect on what has been learned.
“The Vishwaguru is not teaching anyone anything—but what has he learnt?” she asked.
She criticised Prime Minister Modi for not taking responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack, stating,“The people who went to Pahalgam went there trusting you — and they were killed.”
Questioning the Centre's response, she added, “What has the Union government done for their families? Have you reached out to them or provided any assistance? What have you done for the terror victims of this country?”
Kanimozhi also targeted the Home Ministry, asking, “What was your department doing when the IB and RAW flagged suspicious activity? How were the red flags missed?”
She warned the government against using Operation Sindoor as a distraction, “You can’t keep pointing to what happened 50 or 100 years ago. You failed. Tell us why you failed.”

Kanimozhi questions need for Op Sindoor delegations, says govt failed India on peace
DMK MP Kanimozhi thanked the Modi government for showing trust in the Opposition by sending them as delegation leaders to brief the world about Operation Sindoor. However, she questioned the necessity of such delegations, asking, “Why did the attack happen in the first place?”
"Some moments are not to be celebrated but mourned. Peace has failed us—and you have failed the people of India," she said.
"Today it has become a blame game. Even the Home Minister only seems interested in blaming and criticising the Opposition," Kanimozhi noted.

Kanimozhi says BJP failed India, states polls must reflect people's will
Thanking the BJP for sending all-party delegations abroad, DMK MP Kanimozhi remarked that she would have been happier if there had been no need for such delegations. “We had to go because you have failed India,” she said.
Referring to the Home Minister’s remark that the BJP would remain in power for the next 20 years, she responded, "We don’t mind sitting in the Opposition for 20 years, because the will of the people is supreme and we will bow to it. But it should be the people who make us sit in the Opposition—not the Election Commission or the SIR (Special Intensive Revision)."

Kanimozhi says Oppn patriotic, credits BJP for revival of Nehru, Periyar, Ambedkar
DMK MP Kanimozhi stated that the Opposition has never failed the government and is no less patriotic. “When you (the government) called for an all-party meeting, we in the Opposition came and said we stand with the government,” she said.
Taking a jibe at the ruling party’s repeated criticism of Jawaharlal Nehru, she said, “Even the Congress doesn’t remember the Congress as much as you do. But I want to thank you for that — because of you, people in Tamil Nadu have gone back to reading about Periyar and Ambedkar, and people everywhere have returned to reading Nehru.”

Terrorists were invited and given visas during UPA regime: Amit Shah
Home Minister Amit Shah mocked Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi for questioning how terrorists entered India. He asked Gogoi if he had ever visited the border, noting that the Army operates in extremely tough conditions.
Shah said that while terrorists may infiltrate, under the current government they are either arrested or eliminated. In a sharp dig at the UPA era, he claimed that during Congress rule, terrorists didn’t need to fear because they were being granted visas and welcomed, just as leaders like Gogoi frequently visited Pakistan.

Shah dares to air Khurshid clip in House, says Article 370 abrogation curbed terror in J-k
As Congress MPs protested against Amit Shah's remarks on Sonia Gandhi, the Home Minister said he had saved Salman Khurshid’s interview and, if permitted, would broadcast it on the television screens installed in the Lok Sabha.
Shah further said that instead of questioning him, the Congress should explain how multiple terrorists managed to escape India during the UPA regime.
Reiterating the impact of the abrogation of Article 370, Shah stated that terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has been curbed.
"Any terrorist killed is buried immediately — no funeral processions are allowed. Terror sympathisers have been removed from government jobs and the Jammu & Kashmir Bar Council," he said.

Shah slams Congress repealing POTA, says Sonia mourned Batla House terrorists
Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Congress of repealing POTA (The Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2002) — passed during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led government through a special joint session of Parliament — due to vote bank politics.
"Who was the Congress trying to protect by repealing POTA?" he asked.
Shah challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to state in Parliament what his party had done to combat terrorism. He claimed that from 2014 to 2025, no terror attacks occurred outside Jammu and Kashmir, and even within J-K, the situation had significantly improved.
Referring to the Batla House encounter, Shah said Congress leader Salman Khurshid once stated that Sonia Gandhi cried when terrorists were killed, but did not mourn Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma, who died in the operation.
"She cried for the terrorists, not for the martyr," Shah remarked.

Congress gave away Aksai Chin, made ‘historic blunder’ by agreeing to Partition: Amit Shah
Responding to Congress MPs who raised questions about China, Home Minister Amit Shah said, “I want to ask them — what happened in the 1962 war? You gave away Aksai Chin to China, and Nehru dismissed it by saying it was a barren land where not even a single blade of grass grows.”
Shah further alleged that Jawaharlal Nehru rejected a US offer to give India a seat in the United Nations Security Council, saying it would harm Indian ties with the "great nation of China".
Shah claimed that the Congress leadership — from Nehru to Sonia Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi — has always admired and loved China. “When the Doklam standoff happened, Rahul Gandhi was meeting the Chinese Ambassador,” he said.
Shah added that the “root cause” of India’s challenges was Pakistan, calling it a “historic blunder” of the Congress for agreeing to the Partition.
