Rahul: 'EC colluded with BJP for Haryana poll win'

The Congress leader cites electoral list data to claim that 25 lakh entries were fake

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday (November 5) cited electoral list data from Haryana to claim that 25 lakh entries were "fake" and the assembly polls last year were "stolen", as he accused the Election Commission (EC) of colluding with the BJP to make them win.

'EC colluded with BJP for Haryana win'

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said he is questioning the EC and the democratic process in the country and therefore, is doing so with 100 per cent proof.

Rahul alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and the two election commissioners colluded with the BJP to ensure its victory in Haryana and claimed that "they are in partnership" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

'Operation Sarkar Chori' was launched to convert the landslide Congress victory into loss in Haryana, the former party president alleged.

He also alleged that CEC Gyanesh Kumar is "lying" to the people of India when he stated that house number zero is given to homeless people and that is the reality of zero number houses.

Addressing a press conference at the Indira Bhawan in Delhi, Rahul cited the electoral list of Haryana to claim that 25,41,144 were fake voters with multiple examples of duplicate voters, invalid addresses and bulk voters.

Claims unfounded: EC official

In its defence, the EC called Rahul’s claims unfounded, stating that no appeals were filed against the electoral rolls in Haryana,

"Why were no claims and objections raised by INC's BLAs during revision to avoid multiple names?" an EC source said on Wednesday.

Booth-level agents, or BLAs, are appointed by political parties to oversee voting and flag irregularities, if any.

Rahul Gandhi says flawed voter list means 'no democracy' in India

"Every single party understands this. There is nothing hidden here. The fundamental question of an election is the integrity of a voter list...We are showing you that the Haryana voter list is flawed, rubbish. If this is flawed, elections are fundamentally flawed. We have been suspecting this again and again...Now, we have proof that the voter list in India is a lie. If the voter list is a lie, there is no democracy...How we proceed, we will coordinate with the Opposition, we will work together, but the fundamental thing that the youth of India and people of Haryana have to understand is that there was no election in Haryana, it was a lie," says Rahul Gandhi.

Aaditya Thackeray backs Rahul Gandhi, slams EC over ‘vote theft’

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has voiced strong support for Rahul Gandhi’s accusations against the Election Commission of India (ECI), alleging that the poll body is aiding the BJP through electoral fraud. In a post on X, Thackeray said Gandhi had “once again exposed the Election Commission’s fraud that helps the BJP to capture states via vote theft.”

He described the Congress leader’s “Vote Chori” presentation as “worth a watch by every Indian,” stressing that the issue goes beyond party lines. “This is about the VALUE of YOUR vote which turns to ZERO because the Election Commission of India allows one political party to ensure fake voters remain on the list,” he wrote.

Thackeray also cited alleged voter fraud in Maharashtra’s Worli constituency, claiming the ECI “refuses to act.” He concluded: “This fight is for democracy and our Constitution. Vote Chor, Gaddi Chodh!”

Rahul Gandhi says corrupted voter list makes training useless

"...If the voter list is corrupt, and we are being given the voter list at the last moment, nothing will come out of training...If this is wrong, no amount of training is going to fix it...So, if the voter list is corrupt and EC is using voter list to finish off elections, then nothing will come out of training, no party can do it. Supreme Court is watching, they have seen Mahadevapura presentation, Aland presentation and now they have seen Haryana presentation. It is not hidden. We are not doing it in a quiet room, we are doing it in front of Indian media...There is nothing here that can be questioned. This is their data, this is not our data," says Rahul Gandhi on being asked if he would approach the Court over his fresh allegations of 'vote chori' and if alliance workers in Bihar are being trained to tackle the same.
