Chandrima S. Bhattacharya is an independent journalist, editor, writer and translator. She writes on women’s lives, environment, contemporary culture and cultural history. Her focus is on the lives of people. She received a UN Women grant in 2025 to write a feature on women farmers in Sundarban turning to indigenous paddy to meet the challenges of climate change. For more than two decades, she worked for a leading mainstream daily, contributing columns, special stories and in-depth reports to the publication and editing its various sections.
