Nehru-Congress-bashing again and again; Modi concludes his 100-minute speech

No country stopped India from acting in its defence, PM Modi stressed, replying to Rahul's remarks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Tuesday (July 29) that no world leader had told India to stop Operation Sindoor as he lashed out at the Congress for “importing issues from Pakistan” and said the Opposition party is joining terrorists and their masterminds in shedding tears after the victorious Indian military action.

Replying to an over 16-hour discussion in Lok Sabha on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, Modi rebutted the Opposition’s charge over US President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of mediating “ceasefire”, saying he had told US Vice President J D Vance on May 9 night that Pakistan will pay dearly for any attack on India.

In his 102-minute speech, the prime minister lauded India’s military action as a “vijayotsav” (victory celebration) and told the House amid cheers from the treasury benches that he was presenting the “stand of Bharat”.

“India destroyed Pakistan’s military strength between May 9 and May 10. Pakistan now clearly understands that India’s response will always get bigger and that India can do anything if it engages in any misadventure in future,” he said, emphasising that Operation Sindoor is continuing.

What transpired that day

Modi said Vance called him up a few times but he was busy in meetings with the armed forces brass and returned the call later. “The Vice President told me that Pakistan is going to launch a big attack. I told him if this is Pakistan’s intention, then this will cost it dearly. We will respond with a bigger attack. We will fire cannonballs against their bullets.” “No world leader asked India to stop its military operation,” he said.

India has made it clear that it will respond to terror on its terms, won't tolerate nuclear blackmail and will treat terror sponsors and masterminds alike, he said.

On Trump's claim

No country stopped India from acting in its defence, PM Modi stressed, adding that only three of the 193 UN members spoke in favour of Pakistan, remarks which came soon after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi claimed no country condemned Pakistan and cited Trump’s claims to question Modi’s leadership.

Modi then turned on the Congress. The Opposition party has fallen to such a low that despite governing India for so long, it does not trust the country’s establishment and its trust is in fact guided by remote control in Pakistan, he said. Modi kept raking up Congress and Jawaharlal Nehru and blamed the party and India's first Prime Minister for many of India's ''follies''.

PM Modi: India has set new normal for terrorists

Till date, many Pakistan air bases are in ICU.

Operation Sindoor was a technical warfare success, too because of the preparation we made for the past 10 years.

During Operation Sindoor, for the first time, Atmanirbhar Bharat's strength was seen and recognised by the world. The synergy between our three Forces left Pakistan stunned.

There were terror attacks in the past too but now the situation is different. Now, terrorists know the new normal. They don't get sleep because they know India will come and kill them. The world has seen the scale of our action, from Sindoor to Sindhu (river Indus). Pakistan has been made to pay a very heavy price.

Operation Sindoor makes it clear that India has set three standards - if there is an attack on India, we will retaliate on our terms, no nuclear blackmail will work now, and we will not distinguish between terrorists and governments sheltering terrorists.

PM Modi: 'In 22 minutes, we avenged April 22 Pahalgam attack'

During Operation Sindoor, the country stood by me, it is a debt on me.

The way a horrific incident happened on April 22, the way terrorists killed people after asking their religion, it was a cruel attack and a pre-planned conspiracy to spread riots in the country and create unrest. The country failed that conspiracy.

After April 22, I publicly said that we will destroy terrorists and their masters in a way that is beyond their imagination. I gave this speech in English so that the world understands.

I called a meeting immediately after I returned from abroad on April 22 where I gave clear instructions that terrorism has to be given a befitting reply.

We trust our Armed Forces explicitly and we gave them full freedom to choose the time, place and manner of action. We are proud that the terrorists were taught a lesson that has taken away their sleep even today.

Immediately after Pahalgam, Pakistan army knew that India will decide on a tough military action. On May 6-7 intervening night, we acted the way we decided and Pakistan couldn't do anything. In 22 minutes we avenged April 22.

This was the first such strategy of India during which we went into uncharted territories of Pakistan to demolish terror hubs, we went to areas no one ever thought we would. Our Forces destroyed terror hubs. We proved Pakistan's nuclear blackmail wrong. We proved it won't work anymore, and India won't bow down to nuclear blackmail.

PM Modi hails Operation Sindoor's victory

I had told the media at the start of the session that this session is a Vijay Utsav, a session of India's triumph.

This Vijay Utsav is about destroying terror headquarters, about fulfilling the pledge of Sindoor, of the unity, will power of 140 crore Indians.

It is with this spirit of triumph that I am here to present India's side and those who don't see India's side, I will show them the mirror.

Rahul attacks Modi, says 'you have fused Pakistan and China'

Another new normal. The PM says any terror attack now will be treated as an act of war. This means now any terrorist can come and attack and you will be at war. You have empowered your enemies to decide when they want you to be at war. You have turned the whole concept of deterrence on its head. This government is clueless about what deterrence means.

Today, you have fused Pakistan and China. When I warned about this earlier, you all laughed at me. Today, the two are fused together.... the entire operation (Sindoor), it was the Chinese who were feeding critical information to the Pakistanis... if you had listened to me back then and said yes, the Chinese and Pakistanis are fused, you wouldn't have lost those jets.

The foreign affairs minister is talking about a two-front war. He doesn't even understand the basics of warfare. The two-front war concept is long gone. Today, it is a unified command, that's what's happened with Pakistan and China. Pakistani officers have been embedded with the PLA.

Now we are not just facing China and Pakistan fused as one military.

It is dangerous for the country for the PM to use the Forces politically...

The external affairs minister said something that shows the complete bankruptcy of our foreign policy today. This explains why in his entire discussion of an hour yesterday, he did not say a word on China.

Later, Rahul quotes Jaishankar's infamous "China is the bigger economy", to say, "this shows we are scared of China". Rahul adds, this is also why the PM doesn't have the guts to stand up to the US President and say you are lying.

Has any country condemned Pakistan? Rahul asks Jaishankar

There is a new thing these days - new normal. External Affairs Minister (S Jaishankar) uses it often. The External Affairs Minister said that many countries condemned terrorism. It is absolutely right. What the minister has not said is that not a single country has condemned Pakistan.

This External Affairs Minister amazes me. He says we have deterred Pakistan. Have you? The man behind Pahalgam is a man called Asim Munir and he is sitting in White House and having lunch with the US President. What are we doing?

The President of US says the reason he (Munir) was here was because "I wanted to thank him". Wow, this was the man responsible for Pahalgam.

Which planet is the foreign minister (Jaishankar) sitting on? This is the new normal.

Congress MP Venugopal alleges Amit Shah lied on safety

Congress MP KC Venugopal alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was lying when he said that everywhere in the country is safe. He asked how Shah can make such a claim when Manipur is burning. He also said that the Pahalgam attack was not an isolated incident adding that several other terror attacks have taken place in Kashmir and across the country.

Rahul dares PM Modi to call Trump 'a liar'

Donald Trump (US President) has said 29 times that he got the ceasefire done. If he is lying, let the PM come to the House, if he has the guts and the courage of an Indira Gandhi, let him come to this House and make a statement that Donald Trump is lying. Even if you have 50 per cent of Indira Gandhi's courage, you will say Trump is lying, Trump hasn't done the ceasefire. Let him come and say here this evening that Donald Trump is a liar.

Rahul questions Rajnath over informing Pakistan about Operation Sindoor

Rajnath Singh ji said that Operation Sindoor lasted 22 minutes, and after it, the Indian DGMO informed the Pakistan DGMO at 1:35 AM. The defence minister doesn't realise what he has revealed. You are saying you attacked a country and then called them and told them what all you won't hit and what you will.

Rajnath ji also said that we informed the Pakistanis that we won't hit any of their military infrastructure. This is why I talked about the freedom to manoeuvre.... you told our pilots to go to Pakistan but don't attack their military bases, but their military could hit you back.... These were political constraints that the defence attaché spoke about.

When these were the instructions, naturally, your jets will crash. Anil Chauhan ji (the CDS) also said it was not a question of how many jets fell but what we achieved. The fact is that the Indian Air Force made no mistakes, the mistakes were made by the government because it tied their hands at their backs. The Indian Air Force can't be blamed at all; it was the government's mistake. Why did you inform the Pakistan DGMO at 1:35 what you are doing?

Rahul reminds Modi govt of 1971 war and Indira Gandhi's leadership

For political work, we travel all over the country. Whenever we meet a person from the Forces, a mere handshake tells you he is from the Forces. The handshake will tell you this man can't be shaken, cant be intimidated, can't be bent. But a tiger needs full freedom. If you want to use the Forces to their optimum, you need political will and the will to give them complete freedom.

Rajnath Singh spoke of the 1971 war. I want to remind him too. Then the 7th fleet was coming to the Indian Ocean and the PM of the time told them (the US), come if you want but we will do our part. That was political will. General Manekshaw told the PM that he would not do the operation in the summer, that he wants 6 months. The PM gave him that freedom. As a result, nearly a lakh Pak soldiers surrendered and a new nation was born.
